Project Overview

BaoTi Group is one of China's leading enterprises specializing in the research, development and manufacturing of titanium and titanium alloy products.

For high-performance alloy plates, heat treatment is an important part of the manufacturing process. Annealing, solution heat treatment and quenching can introduce deformation into the plate, making subsequent levelling essential.

For BaoTi Group's heat treatment production line, EZHONG supplied the 11-roll plate levelling machine and associated auxiliary equipment, designed for plates 6-30 mm thick, 1,000-3,200 mm wide and up to 14,000 mm long, with yield strength up to 750 MPa.

Key Equipment Features

11-Roll Configuration

The machine adopts an 11-roll configuration with 5 upper rolls and 6 lower rolls. The relatively dense roll arrangement provides multiple controlled deformation points across the plate, supporting stable correction of residual deformation in wide alloy plates.

All 11 Working Rolls Driven

Unlike passive-roll configurations, all 11 working rolls are actively driven. The main transmission uses two AC variable-frequency motors, a hardened gear distribution gearbox and universal shafts to drive the working rolls.

High-Rigidity Pre-Stressed Frame

The frame consists of the machine bases, columns, covers and tie rods forming a closed structure. Four pre-stressed tie rods are used to improve overall frame strength and rigidity. Maximum elastic deformation under load: ≤0.24 mm.

Precision Roll-Gap Control

High-precision displacement sensors monitor the working-roll position, with a display accuracy of ±0.05 mm. The PLC performs closed-loop control of the roll gap to achieve accurate positioning and zero calibration.

Work-Roll Bending Adjustment

The upper backup rolls use adjustable wedges, allowing the operator to compensate for work-roll deflection and improve the levelling of plates with uneven transverse deformation across the plate width.

Fast Hydraulic Roll Change

For a production line operating three shifts per day, the machine is equipped with a hydraulic fast roll-changing system. The lower roll set can be hydraulically pulled out from the machine frame for quick replacement.
